To be more specific, the company has confirmed that they will be shutting down their internet games on Windows. This includes titles such as Backgammon, Checkers, Hearts, Reversi, Spades, and MSN Go. This will cover all versions of Windows, starting with Windows XP and Windows ME where these games will no longer be accessible come 31st of July, 2019.
This will be followed by Windows 7 users were they’ll lose access come 22nd January, 2020. According to Microsoft, “It is with heavy hearts that we have made the difficult decision. However, the time has come for us, along with our hardware and software partners, to invest our resources towards more recent technologies.”
That being said, we have to wonder exactly how many people will actually miss these games. While those games are fun, there are plenty of other games out there to choose from, but if you’ve ever grown up playing games like Hearts, then this could be something you might miss.
