Spotify took aim at Pandora with its Stations app that allows listeners to enjoy curated music without having to do much themselves. It’s the convenience of this app which made it popular instantly which it was launched in the U.S. a few weeks ago. iOS users were missing an important feature, though, and that was support for CarPlay. That has now been addressed.

CarPlay is the extension of iOS into your vehicle. It allows compatible apps to simplify the user controls so that the core features always remain accessible without causing minimal distraction to the driver. This is something that Spotify Stations should have had from the beginning as many people like to listen to music when they’re driving.

A Reddit user has now spotted that Spotify has finally added support for CarPlay to Stations. This means that users will be able to control music playback from their in-car entertainment system directly. So all of their radio stations will be easily accessible and they can listen to them without having to do much digging, particularly when they’re in the car.

Do bear in mind, though, that Stations is only available in the United States and Australia currently. Those who are in either of the two countries will now be able to start using it with CarPlay. No word as yet on when Spotify will expand the app’s availability to other countries.
