This hasn’t been a particularly kind week for online services. After Cloudflare’s troubles yesterday which knocked a fair bit of the internet offline, Facebook’s services have been acting up today for users across the globe. Twitter is now facing its very own outage with direct messages not working as they should be.

It was reported earlier today that Facebook, Instagram, and WhatsApp are suffering from an outage. Users across the globe are unable to properly access these services. There have been complaints about images and other content not loading and the services behaving out of the ordinary overall.

Not to be outdone perhaps, Twitter has had its very own little outage as well. It appears that direct message delivery and notifications are acting up. The company has confirmed through its official support account that it currently has some issues with “DM delivery and notifications.” It adds that a fix is being worked on and that more updates will be provided in due course.

The cause of this outage has not yet been confirmed so it’s difficult to say what might have caused it and just how widespread it is. However, with Twitter working on a fix, it won’t be long now before the company can get the service back on track.
