Last year, it was reported that Adobe would be creating a “real” and full version of Photoshop designed for Apple’s iPad. The app was supposed to be launched this year, but given that we’re almost at the end of the year and the app is nowhere in sight, it’s safe to say that our confidence is not particularly high.

However, according to a report from Bloomberg, it seems that the app is still being targeted for a launch in 2019, although the bad news is that in order to meet their 2019 deadline, there is a good chance that not all of the features of the app will be shipped at launch. This is according to a small group of beta testers who found that several core features in the app are not present in the beta.

This includes filters, the pen tool, custom brushes, RAW editing, and so on. Of course, from now until the release there is a chance that Adobe could have those features ready, but maybe we shouldn’t hold our breaths just yet. Adobe Creative Cloud chief product officer Scott Belsky has since confirmed that there will be some features missing at launch, but reassured users that those features will be added in over time.

Adobe is expected to share more details at the Adobe MAX creative conference which will be held in early November.
