If you were a fan of the official Tetris mobile games (Tetris & Tetris Blitz) by EA for smartphones.

It is indeed a sad news that EA will be ending the support for its Tetris games in April. You might have also observed the game as “Tetris 2011” at the Play Store / App Store.

As per the exact details, the support should end on April 21st, 2020. However, you may not find the Tetris app at the Play Store as of now (at least for the new users).

If you already have it installed – you should be able to continue using it. So, the existing users will have no problem to access the game but new users will no longer be able to get it for their device.

We cannot be too sure for the reason why EA decided to discontinue it if it was popular enough – but if they just want to get rid of it because it did not make them money, it would not be a surprise.

Of course, that is subjective. However, it is worth nothing that in addition to the removal of Tetris mobile games, they plan to add a new Tetris game – “Tetris Royale”.

Whether that is going to be any better than the original classic – only time will tell. But, for now, we could keep an eye out for the new Tetris game which is currently in the beta phase.
