The last time we saw a Prince of Persia title was back in 2008. This means that it has been 12 years since a new Prince of Persia game was released. The semi-good news is that Ubisoft hasn’t completely abandoned the franchise yet because the company has since announced a new Prince of Persia VR escape room.

For those unfamiliar, escape rooms are basically rooms that allows a group of people to get together to try and figure out the hints and clues for them to escape, but in this instance, it will be given a hi-tech twist in the form of virtual reality. The VR escape room will come in the form of Prince of Persia: The Dagger of Time.

According to Ubisoft, “In the story, players are summoned by Kaileena, the Empress of Time. They are asked to help her to stop the evil plans of a Magi who is attempting to restore the sands to the Hourglass of Time and create an army of Sand Monsters. To successfully escape the fortress, players must use cooperative teamwork and problem-solving skills to complete objectives, utilizing powers such as time control from the dagger of time.”

It sounds like an interesting twist on the game and Ubisoft claims that there will be 300 locations around the world that players will be able to check out the game. We would have much preferred the company releasing a new Prince of Persia game, but we suppose this will have to do for now.
