A lot of monitors these days still use DisplayPort and HDMI connections. However, if you’re in the market for a display that uses Thunderbolt, then you might be interested to learn that Lenovo has recently announced its new ThinkVision P40w-20 monitor that comes with Thunderbolt 4 connectivity.

For those unfamiliar, Thunderbolt is the successor to Thunderbolt 3 and comes with some new specs and features. It will retain the same 40Gb/s speeds as its successor, but it will now support longer cables of up to 2m in length. It will also be capable of supporting two 4K displays instead of one (or a single 8K display). It will also support speeds of up to 32Gb/s when it comes to PCIe connections, doubling that of Thunderbolt 3.

As for the specs of the display, it is a massive display measuring 39.7-inches with a 21:9 aspect ratio and supporting a resolution of 5120×2160 with a curvature of 2500R. There is built-in Natural Low Blue Light technology and TÜV Rheinland Eyesafe Display Certification to help reduce eye fatigue. It also comes with a whopping 12 ports so you should be able to connect a variety of peripherals to it.

Given its specs and size, it’s not a cheap monitor and is priced at $1,700 and will be available for purchase this June.
