In 2020, Apple launched the iPhone SE which is basically the company’s attempt at creating a “budget” iPhone. It was a rather basic iPhone with a design that mimicked the iPhone 8, so for those who didn’t really need to have all the latest or greatest hardware, it got the job done just fine.

However, if you do plan on getting the iPhone SE, you may want to hold off until 2022. This is because according to analyst Ming-Chi Kuo, 2022 will see the launch of another iPhone SE, but this phone will come with 5G. The iPhone SE launched last year was launched ahead of the iPhone 12 series which was the first iPhones to support 5G.

If Kuo’s report is accurate, this means that the 2022 iPhone SE could be the cheapest 5G iPhone ever, so for those who value connectivity speeds, then this could be worth looking into. As for the specs of the phone, we’re not sure what we can expect, but don’t expect too much since this is the iPhone SE we’re talking about.

There have been rumors claiming that Apple might launch a larger iPhone SE Plus, but to date we haven’t heard anything since which suggests that either the device has been cancelled or Apple just got better at plugging leaks.
