The first iPhone SE was launched quite a while ago and for a moment, it seemed as though it was a short lived experiment and that Apple would not launch such a device again. However, that changed in 2020 when Apple launched a new model, and if you weren’t that impressed with the specs then, then maybe 2022’s model could be for you.

In a new report from DigiTimes, apparently Apple will be launching the third-gen iPhone SE in the first half of 2022. This is actually not the first time that we’re hearing about this handset and based on previous reports, apparently Apple will be keeping to the 4.7-inch form factor and will also be maintaining the same design.

This means that the bulk of the changes that Apple will be making to the handset will be under the hood, so maybe don’t get your hopes up yet on features like Face ID. However, we did hear rumors that the iPhone 13 SE could actually come with support for 5G, so if you wanted a relatively cheap iPhone with 5G connectivity, then this could be the handset for you.

Alternatively, Apple is also expected to launch the iPhone 13 mini later this year. While it probably won’t be as cheap as the iPhone 13 SE, it is still more affordable than the other models but will come with better specs, which is good for futureproofing and if you plan to keep your phone around for a while.
