Sometimes before buying a new gadget, we have to think about whether or not our homes have the space for them, especially if you live in a small apartment. This means that sometimes we need to sacrifice the size of our TVs, choosing to use a soundbar instead of standing speakers, and so on.
However, if you’re looking to furnish your home with an air purifier but don’t want to sacrifice your available space, then maybe IKEA could have the answer for you. The company has recently debuted the “Starkvind”, in which one of the models is a side table that has the air purifier built into it.
As you can see in the photo above, at a glance you might think it’s just a regular side table, but it actually pulls double duty which we think is pretty cool. The air filtration system that IKEA is using is a three-filter system that can capture particles like hair and dust, as well as 99.5% of airborne particles that measure less than 2.5 micrometers. It can also deal with pollutants like formaldehyde as well as odors.
The Starkvind are smart devices but you will need to purchase a separate $35 hub that will let you control it via the app. The Starkvind air purifiers are priced at $129 and $189 respectively and will be available in black or white this October.
