Turn the clock back about ten years ago, IKEA might be known as a furniture maker for  creating affordable and stylish furniture. However, over the years, the company has adapted to modern times and started to create smart furniture and accessories like lights and window shades that can be remotely controlled.

They also got into gaming by teaming up with companies like ASUS to make gaming-related furniture. If this is something that is of interest to you, you’ll be pleased to learn that IKEA has since announced that come October, their gaming furniture and accessories are set for a global launch.

According to Ewa Rychert, Global Business Leader of Workspace, IKEA of Sweden, “We believe there’s a lot to be done to democratise the gaming experience. Now we take the first step on our gaming journey, and we do it by presenting affordable, high-performing gaming products and complete solutions that we hope reflect people’s personality and taste.”

The lineup will consist of six product families – UPPSPEL, LÅNESPELARE, MATCHSPEL, GRUPPSPEL, UTESPELARE, HUVUDSPELARE. These are essentially things like cup holders, mouse bungees, desks, chairs, and a cool wooden hand that will hold your headphones.

Prior to this announcement, some of these products were only available in select regions, so it’s nice to see that IKEA will be making them available to more gamers around the world.
