OnePlus typically launches two flagships a year. One will be in the early part of the year, and the other in the second half of the year. However, there have been rumors claiming that there might not be a OnePlus 9T this year, but it looks like those plans could have changed, at least kind of changed.

According to a report from Android Central, they have heard that OnePlus will apparently be launching a OnePlus 9 RT this October. Given the naming scheme, it won’t be an upgrade over the OnePlus 9, but rather an upgrade to the OnePlus 9R. This means that we can expect similar features like the 120Hz AMOLED display, but there could also be an upgrade to the Snapdragon 870 chipset where apparently it will be a higher-binned version.

Other rumored features include a 4,500mAh battery with 65W fast-charging and a 50MP Sony IMX766 sensor. It is also going to be the first phone from OnePlus to run OxygenOS 12 out of the box, which is based on Android 12, meaning that it will be beating the flagship OnePlus 9 to the punch.

That being said, don’t get too excited just yet. This is because the OnePlus 9 RT is said to be limited in terms of availability. It is said to be only available in India and China, at least for now, so don’t get your hopes up at getting your hands on it yet.
