Last year, Microsoft launched the Surface Duo smartphone. It would have been quite a celebration were it not for the fact that the handset came with somewhat outdated specs. However, Microsoft could be looking to rectify that with its successor, or so Geekbench sightings would have us believe.

According to a listing on Geekbench, the alleged Surface Duo 2 was spotted where it looks like it will be equipped with the Qualcomm Snapdragon 888 chipset and 8GB of RAM. This is good news as the Snapdragon 888 is the chipset that other flagships of 2021 are using, so at the very least on paper it will be equal to other phones.

Other the model of the chipset used and how much RAM it will be packing, not much else is known about the phone. It is largely expected to maintain the same dual display design, but the rumors are claiming that the handset could come with a triple camera setup on the outside. There are also rumors that there will be improvements made to battery life, higher refresh rates, and more.

There’s no word on when Microsoft will officially launch the Surface Duo 2, but these benchmark sightings give us hope that an announcement may not be too far away.
