There have been rumors that Apple could be developing their own foldable iPhone, but when exactly will we be seeing this new mythical phone? According to analyst Ming-Chi Kuo, he believes that Apple could launch a foldable iPhone in 2024, which seems to be in line with an earlier report that suggested a foldable iPhone could be 2-3 years away at the earliest.
It’s interesting that Apple is looking to hop on board the foldable bandwagon, but given that Samsung is pretty much dominating the space at the moment, perhaps Apple wants in on that action as well. Samsung has been steadily growing its foldables portfolio, most recently with devices like the Galaxy Z Fold 3 and the Galaxy Z Flip 3, the latter of which seems to be rather popular.
At the moment it’s anyone’s guess as to what the foldable iPhone could look like or what form factor it could adopt. Right now, the current form factors we’re seeing are devices that can transform into tablets, or phones that can be folded up to become even smaller, but maybe there could be a third option that we haven’t figured out yet.
In any case, 2024 is a very long time away so it’s most definitely too early to tell if this rumor will pan out, but what say you? Is a foldable iPhone something you might be interested in?
