Xiaomi has launched a new vertical air conditioner in China specifically designed for large spaces, promising rapid cooling performance. The Mijia Powerful Wind Floor-Standing Air Conditioner Ultra 3HP can begin cooling a room in just 15 seconds, according to the manufacturer. The appliance is currently available in the Chinese market for 5,999 yuan (~$886). This new release expands the Mijia smart product line, which features integration with the company’s HyperOS ecosystem.

Developed for expansive living rooms and open-plan layouts, the system utilizes a 25.1 cc dual-cylinder compressor. Xiaomi states this design delivers a 19% increase in internal displacement compared to the brand’s previous configurations. The unit incorporates dual-structure pure copper evaporators and condensers, expanding the thermal exchange surface area to accelerate both cooling and heating cycles.

According to company specifications, the device achieves a maximum cooling capacity of 11,000 watts and a heating capacity of 16,000 watts. Operating in a 140 Hz high-frequency mode allows the system to initiate cooling within 15 seconds and heating within approximately 30 seconds. For air distribution, Xiaomi utilized sine-wave dual motors capable of generating an airflow volume of up to 1,800 cubic meters per hour, projecting air up to 16 meters (around 52 feet) across a room.

The appliance features specialized airflow modes for thermal comfort. The “Sky Curtain Wind” mode distributes cool air across the ceiling, while the “Carpet Wind” mode directs warmth toward the floor, avoiding direct airflow on occupants. Despite its high-power output, the unit emphasizes energy efficiency with an Annual Performance Factor (APF) rating of 4.90, meeting the strict Chinese Super Level 1 standard. Internal energy-saving algorithms can reportedly reduce annual power consumption by roughly 660 kWh. Additionally, it operates in extreme temperatures ranging from -35°C to 65°C (-31°F to 149°F).

Smart connectivity is driven by HyperOS Connect, enabling smart home automation, remote control, and voice commands. An integrated artificial intelligence module automatically adjusts temperature and airflow in real time. The package includes over-the-air (OTA) updates, remote diagnostics, and standard maintenance alerts. A global launch date remains unconfirmed.
