Baseus has expanded its personal audio lineup at IFA 2026 with the introduction of the Baseus MC2 NC, a new clip-on open-ear earbud engineered with active noise cancellation. Serving as the direct successor to the previous MC2 model, the device’s standout distinction is the integration of high-performance ANC into an unsealed acoustic form factor.

Active noise cancellation has historically proven difficult to implement on open-ear designs due to the lack of a physical silicone seal inside the ear canal. Most existing clip-on models with ambient reduction capabilities achieve modest noise cancellation levels of around -20 dB. In contrast, Baseus claims the MC2 NC reaches noise reduction depths as low as -45 dB. This figure positions the device well ahead of current open-ear competitors and narrows the gap with traditional in-ear ANC earphones, which typically achieve between -60 dB and -70 dB of isolation.

To achieve this level of attenuation without deep ear insertion, the MC2 NC utilizes an Air Ear Wing structure designed to establish a natural acoustic barrier against ambient sound. This architecture operates alongside a dual adaptive ANC system, which dynamically adjusts cancellation waves based on surrounding noise profiles. The earbuds also feature a dual air chamber design, aiming to balance passive acoustic positioning with long-term wearing comfort during workdays, workouts, and commutes.

By pushing open-ear cancellation performance toward levels associated with closed-ear products, Baseus seeks to offer users reduced environmental distractions while retaining the spatial awareness and comfort inherent to clip-on audio.

The MC2 NC Clip-on ANC Earbuds will officially reach consumer markets in October 2026.
