At its annual Connect event, Meta unveiled the Muse Charm, a standalone handheld AI companion about the size of an Apple Watch. Described as an interactive, Tamagotchi-style device, it features an interactive visual avatar and integrates the company’s real-time Muse AI voice architecture.
Designed for keychains or pockets, the device includes a corner fingerprint sensor that lets users trigger conversation and visual recognition without unlocking a mobile phone. Meta plans to release the device during the upcoming holiday shopping season.

Marking a major hardware shift, Meta also introduced the Meta VR Glasses, a lightweight spatial headset tipping the scales at 100 grams—roughly five times lighter than the Meta Quest 3. The device shifts battery weight and storage to a tethered puck, allowing for a form-factor equipped with 5K displays and full-color passthrough video. The system supports Dolby Vision, Dolby Atmos spatial audio, and up to three hours of continuous high-resolution media playback. It maintains backward compatibility with all Quest games, runs Xbox Cloud Gaming, and mirrors Mac or PC displays with virtual desktop peripherals. It launches next spring with a starting price of $1,300.
Ray-Ban Audio and Camera Smart Glasses
The company broadened its smart eyewear portfolio with two distinct Ray-Ban editions:
- Ray-Ban Audio Glasses: A camera-free, audio-only design supporting voice calls and media playback. It offers 12 hours of battery life per charge, expanding to 48 hours with its accompanying charging case. Units ship October 13, priced at $349.
- Third-Generation Ray-Ban Meta Glasses: This refreshed camera model adopts a slimmer frame, dedicated Meta AI button, and a new six-microphone array that eliminates 90% of ambient background noise. Battery life reaches nine hours, while the upgraded 12 MP camera captures 3K video. Starting at $449, it will also introduce an FDA-cleared hearing enhancement feature via a Meta One subscription or a $149 one-time fee.
