In this tutorial, we will be showing you how to avoid toll roads using Google Maps, both on desktop and mobile.
How to avoid toll roads in Google Maps for desktop
- Open the Google Maps website
- Type in the destination
- Click on ‘Options’
- In the ‘Avoid’ column, select ‘Tolls’
- The new route will be automatically displayed
How to avoid toll roads in Google Maps for mobile
- Open the Google Maps app on your smartphone or tablet
- Type in the destination
- Tap ‘Directions’
- Tap on the three-dot menu located in the top right-hand corner
- Select ‘Route options’
- Tap on ‘Avoid tolls’
- Tap on ‘Done’
- The new route will be automatically shown on your device’s display
