Announced back in May earlier this year, Activision’s next Call of Duty title will be called Modern Warfare. One of the features of the game is support for cross-platform, meaning that gamers can play with other gamers on other platforms, such as PC, PS4, and the Xbox One. However, the question is, when will the feature be launched?
About a week ago, it was rumored that a new Call of Duty game in the works known as Modern Warfare. The rumors were suggesting that this would kind of act as a soft reboot of sorts to the Modern Warfare franchise, and as it turns out, the rumors were true because Call of Duty: Modern Warfare has since been officially announced.
Activision is expected to announce a new Call of Duty game by the end of June, but it seems that some of the details might have already been leaked. According to a report from Eurogamer who have heard from their sources, it seems that 2019’s Call of Duty title will be known as Modern Warfare.
How Activision’s Call of Duty franchise works is that every year, there will be a new title. However, every title will be developed by a different developer. So far we’ve seen studios like Treyarch, Sledgehammer, and Infinity Ward share the development of various Call of Duty titles in the past.
So far Activision has been pretty consistent with its release of Call of Duty games on an annual basis, and for those who aren’t sick of the franchise yet, you’ll be pleased to learn that we can expect to learn more about a new Call of Duty game by the end of June. This was revealed during Activision’s earnings call where they expect to reveal it sometime this quarter.
A couple of years ago, a dispute between Call of Duty players resulted in one of them “swatting” the other, which unfortunately resulted in a man being killed. The person behind the call, Tyler Barriss, has since been sentenced to 20 years in jail for making false emergency calls to authorities.
