A few months ago, as part of the Apple One subscription bundle, Apple also announced a new health and fitness service called Apple Fitness+. For those unfamiliar, it’s kind of like a home workout program where you can access workout videos and also sync it with Apple devices like the Apple Watch.

It sounds quite useful, but for whatever reason, it seems that Apple has opted to not make it compatible with AirPlay. What this means is that if you want to use your TV to watch Apple Fitness+ videos, you would require an Apple TV device. This means that even if your smart TV supports Apple’s AirPlay protocol, you still cannot cast it from your phone or tablet to your TV.

To be fair, as iMore points out, Apple never advertised that Apple Fitness+ would be streamable via AirPlay, but at the same time, it does seem odd that Apple would not make it compatible. This puts users in a bit of a pickle as it means that the only way to watch Apple Fitness+ videos is on your iPhone or iPad, or spring some cash for an Apple TV. Hopefully support for AirPlay will arrive at a later date, but for now, this is the current situation.
