Last year, the folks at Larian Studios announced Baldur’s Gate 3. This would be the third official installment in the Baldur’s Gate franchise, where the last official title, Baldur’s Gate 2, was released two decades ago in 2000. For those who have been looking forward to the game, you might be interested to learn that early access to the game will be launching next month.
The original two Baldur’s Gate games have cemented their place as being some of the best RPG games to have been made. Undoubtedly many were sad when the game seemingly came to an end, but if you have been following the news, you might have heard how the folks at Larian Studios have decided to created a third game in the franchise.
According to a recent report, it has been suggested that Baldur’s Gate 3 could be released this year. How true are those rumors? It is unclear how true or accurate they are, but they are certainly being corroborated with a new report where it seems that Hasbro has given it away that Baldur’s Gate 3 will be released on Steam Early Access this year.
When it comes to RPGs, Baldur’s Gate is one of the more popular and beloved franchises around, and there is no doubt that many gamers were probably a little bummed out when the game officially came to an end after two releases (not including expansions). However, last year, it was officially announced that Baldur’s Gate 3 is in development.
Towards the end of last month, it was reported that the developers behind Divinity: Original Sin 2 could have been teasing Baldur’s Gate 3. The studio put out a teaser image with the roman numerals “III”, which many had understandably assumed would have been Original Sin 3, but later there was a ton of speculation that it might have been for Baldur’s Gate 3 instead.
If you’re a fan of Dungeons & Dragons, you are probably familiar with the fact that over the years, several games based on D&D have been made. Baldur’s Gate is one of those games that has held a special place in many hearts of gamers, and the good news is that it looks like the series and other D&D titles will be making its way onto consoles.

This is according to a tweet by Brian Fargo (via Game Rant) who for those unfamiliar, is the founder of Interplay who was also the series’ original publisher.
