It has been nearly a decade since the last Hummer was rolled off the production line. For those who love the truck and wouldn’t mind seeing a modern revival of it, you could be in luck because GMC recently posted a teaser on its website where they are hinting that the Hummer will be revived.
A lot of carmakers these days are creating electric cars or hybrids at the very least. This is because as the world starts to run out of fossil fuels, creating cars that don’t require them makes a lot of sense. In fact, Japanese carmaker Subaru has announced that by the mid 2030s, they plan to sell only electric cars.
Recently there was a report, or rather, a petition in which it asked the NHTSA to investigate Tesla over multiple reports of cars suddenly accelerating forwards by themselves. If true, this would be incredibly alarming as it could lead to all manner of accidents, and in worst case scenarios, even death.
Update – Tesla has since refuted the claims with a post on their website.Modern cars have definitely gotten a lot smarter compared to cars back in the day, where they are now equipped with computers and sensors that are supposed to make the driving experience better. However, sometimes the addition of technology can make things worse and more complicated.
One of the bottlenecks of electric cars is the need to recharge them. Unlike pumping gas, recharging an electric car takes considerably longer. While this might not be a big deal for regular drivers, it might prove a problem for taxis where anytime they are not fetching passengers, it is income lost.
The problem with electric cars is that their motors tend to run considerably quieter compared to regular car motors. This can create a problem for pedestrians who might not otherwise be able to hear an electric car driving up behind them, especially if they have a pair of headphones on. However, Tesla might have an answer to that problem.
When you think of Sony, you might think of the PlayStation, or you might think of the Walkman, or you might think of headphones or speakers, or you might think about their cameras. However, at CES 2020, the company has managed to surprise us all by taking the wraps off a concept electric car called the VISION-S.
Many carmakers have been hopping on board the electric bandwagon as the industry moves towards a more sustainable future. However, there are still some companies who have been holding out. For example, Ferrari recently revealed that the company’s first fully-electric car will only arrive in 2025 at the earliest.
Earlier this year, Tesla’s CEO Elon Musk had hinted that video streaming platforms such as Netflix and YouTube would soon be coming to Tesla vehicles. Given that you can already play games on Tesla’s infotainment system, we suppose it’s not a stretch to think that you would also be able to stream video as well.
There are many malls and apartment complexes that come with electric vehicle (EV) chargers and parking bays. The only problem is that you need to go look for them, and given that they aren’t exactly many around, this can be an issue. However, Volkswagen might have solved that problem with EV charging robots.
One of the problems with electric cars is that they need to be charged, and unlike gas stations, EV charging stations still aren’t quite as ubiquitous just yet. To make matters worse, there still doesn’t seem to be a standard connector, meaning that depending on the car you drive, you may or may not be able to find an EV that supports it.
In the early days of electric cars, these vehicles had terrible range and weren’t particularly powerful. All of that has changed now, where cars have considerably longer ranges and can achieve pretty incredible top speeds, but it seems that not all carmakers are ready to hop on board just yet.
Tesla’s Cybertruck raised a few eyebrows when it was announced. It sports an odd shape and for some reason, Tesla decided to give it a reinforced body and windows as well. However, it seems that despite some of the questionable design choices, there are many who are on board with this, such as Dubai’s police force.
Last week, Tesla took the wraps off the Cybertruck, it’s new electric vehicle that featured a reinforced body and supposedly shatterproof windows. Unfortunately, during the demonstration, its windows actually broke which was rather embarrassing for the company, but also slightly hilarious.
