The LED Duro Flash is a pretty decent alternative where road safety advocates are cocnerned, since it is made from a cast aluminum alloy without any moving parts or an on/off switch, makign them essentially water- and weather-proof. Tipping the scales at 1lb each, they can withstand weights up to to 20,000lbs in tests, making them suitable for highway use as well. The kit comprises of 6 flares which come in either all blue, all red or a 50/50 mix, where it is equipped with a carrying case that doubles up as a charging dock as well. When placed in the case, they will start juicing up immediately. A single charge can offer around 4 hours of illumination. At $179.95 a pop, they might just be too luxurious for random emergencies but you never can tell, eh?
