Apple could rent TV episodes for 99 cents instead

Whispers are going around that Apple is in talks with TV studios so that TV episodes can be rented out for $0.99 a pop instead of purchasing downloads for an extra dollar. This rental program which Apple is promoting will function in the same way as existing movie rentals, where you have 30 days to get to watching it, and once you start, you have 24 hours to finish before it expires. What makes it different though, would be having the TV programming streamed from Apple’s cloud servers. This service could very well be perfected by the time the rumored iOS-based replacement for Apple TV is released.
