Hydrochromic and Photochromic technology sees action on catwalk

Amy Winters is a British/Swiss artist graduate from Central Saint Martin’s in 2006, picking upa BA in Theater Design along the way. Well, her first ready-to wear collection hit the runway this September during the London Fashion Week, featuring a capsule collection of wearable printed garments that get this – will be able to change color in reaction to sunlight and water. Thanks to both Hydrochromic and Photochromic technology, Amy’s collection certainly do their part in standing out from the crowd thanks to the use of such chameleon affective materials. The water-reactive ink is capable of disappearing to reveal the color underneath the dress, while the sun-reactive ink will turn the Rain-forest dress purple. Guess spilling some water on your dress the next time you go out won’t be a fashion faux pas anymore, eh?
