The whole issue about TSA scanners is a hot topic at the moment, which is probably what spurs some folks out there to hack up their own DIY body scanners. That’s exactly what one person out there did, cobbling together a centimeter wave scanner using a hacked set of feed horns to create the image. The solution involved reversing the power transistor on one of the feed horns, turning it into a transmitter while the other remained a receiver. Specific details on the project haven’t been shared just yet, but if you’re interested in finding out more, you can check out a video on it after the jump. That being said, if you do come up with something like this on your own, you might want to think twice about using it on random strangers you meet on the street.
