Apple’s SDK has been giving plenty of information regarding the upcoming iPad 2 and now folks have discovered some bittersweet news. Turns out that the iPad 2 will indeed feature a rear-facing camera, which is great, though the bad news is that it will only be a 1-megapixel unit, similar to the current iPod touch and a far cry from the iPhone 4’s 5-megapixel camera. A front-facing camera is also available, which is in line with previous rumors, though it’s listed as being a VGA unit. The iPad 2 has now been given the K94 codename and folks are speculating that the 1-megapixel camera might be due to the tapering of the iPad 2’s edges, assuming that the leaked dummy units we’ve seen are accurate.
