Samsung certainly took their own sweet time to release the GPS fix for the Captivate over at AT&T, and it has taken a good seven months for the Android 2.2 Froyo update to arrive on this smartphone – only to have it pulled back with the source link to said update disappearing a short while after it was appeared. Was this due to AT&T not being prepared to make an official announcement on the update, or is it a mistake that the webmaster made, revealing AT&T’s hand earlier than expected? Whatever the case is, we do know that there now is an official Froyo update for the Samsung Captivate over at AT&T, and hope that this will be followed by an official announcement.
