Samsung Galaxy S II case

It looks like Samsung will be taking the same path as the original Galaxy S when it comes to releasing it in the US. According to a case description on sale at the online retailer, Wireless Xcessories Group, the Samsung Galaxy S II will be rebranded for each carrier it is sold on.

The AT&T Galaxy S II will be called Attain, Verizon’s version will be called Function, and Sprint’s will be called Within. No idea what Samsung are trying to get at with the naming scheme this time around, but they sure sound random compared to the Fascinate, Mesmerize, Captivate, Vibrant and Epic (4G).

The good news is that the same case fits all 3 mentioned devices, so in the best case situation, they will all be the same phones and the only thing different will be their names. The mention of a kickstand in the case description is also pretty interesting to note. I wonder why T-Mobile wasn’t mentioned in the list. Let’s just hope the Galaxy S II phones won’t suffer the same delays as their predecessors did in the US when Froyo was released. Keep those fingers crossed.
