We already knew that KKDI was going to get a “Mango” device, but it seems that the IS12T will be the first Windows Phone 7.5 (aka Mango) device to ship to consumers. “Hip” Japanese carrier KDDI, which is well known for its eccentric phone designs, will  commercialize a series of colorful handsets from Fujitsu. This was just announced (officially) in Japan.

The IS12T (what an awful name) is not only smart, but it is also dust and water resistant. At 113g, it is a very light phone which is comparable in weigh with the Samsung Galaxy S2, one of the lightest Android phone. On the back, the IS12T has a 13.2 Megapixel camera, and while we will have to check the actual image quality, we wonder if the manufacturer knows that the Megapixel war is over and that “low-light” is the new frontier.During my last trip to Japan in October 2010, I have seen how the iPhone had spread, and how Android was starting to gain traction. Now, we will see if Windows Phone 7 can wow one of the biggest phone markets in the world. Let’s wait and see.
