Smart Armor protects the iPad 2 with style

Despite being extremely versatile, one of the caveats of using the Smart Cover for the iPad 2 is its incompatibility with a number of cases for the iPad 2. Most of the time it was either a choice of keeping your iPad 2 shielded from behind or in front but not both at once. Now there are a lot more Smart Cover-friendly cases on the market but that means spending money on both a Smart Cover and a rear case.

The Smart Armor case for the iPad 2 is the solution to that problem. It combines both the functionality of a Smart Cover case and protection of a woven nylon sleeve to keep your iPad 2 safe from bumps and scratches. To top it off, the Smart Armor also features aluminum accent panels to protect the display and make your iPad 2 look ready for war (though I don’t believe it’s going to be stopping any bullets for you).

Unfortunately the Smart Armor isn’t on sale at the moment: its designer has just launched the Kickstarter page for the project and is looking for funs to get it off the ground. $80 gets you a standard Smart Armor though you can top it up with some extra bills for colored versions.
