With the hype around the next-generation iPhone being so great, most people are forgetting that September is usually the month that Apple reserves for the refreshing of their iPod line of portable music players. A few day ago we reported that spare parts for a white iPod touch was spotted, and if you were looking for further proof that there will indeed be a white iPod touch, yet another component has surfaced and this time it is the headphone jack.

As far as specifications go, it has been speculated that Apple is focusing on their iPhone instead and the refresh in iPods will most probably not bring about any new specs, but instead will offer a white variant of the iPod touch instead. Based on our previous report we’re thinking that this could indeed be the case, as the purported iPod spare parts did differ from the previous generation’s. Is this disappointing news for those who regularly upgrade their iPod’s, or will a white version of the iPod touch be enough to appease fans out there?
