The long wait is over – those of you who sat through seven Beta releases as well as a solitary gold master, the final version (that is ready for a commercial release) of Apple’s iOS 5 is now available for download to those who have compatible devices, ranging from the recently announced iPhone 4S to the iPhone 4 and iPhone 3GS, recent generations of the iPod touch, the iPad as well as its sequel. This is one of the biggest updates that concerns the iOS to date, and you can expect a surefire bunch of goodies within.

Among the features in iOS 5 that are sure to pique your interest include iCloud, iMessage, Newstand, Reminders, a better camera user interface as well as simple photo editing made easy thanks to the Photo app. Have you made the update already, and how do you find it? I’m quite sure that Apple’s servers are under a lot of stress at point of publishing…

Update: some iOS 5 update problems have been reported, if you had issues during the update, you are not alone.
