It does not mean if you are a big time hardware manufacturer for Android-powered tablets and smartphones, you would automatically be able to deliver the latest operating system updates always whenever a new one is released. Case in point, the Micromax A110 Canvas 2 has just been announced to get the Android 4.1 Jelly Bean update. Yes sir, who would have heard of the Micromax A110 Canvas 2 before? The Android 4.1 Jelly Bean rollout is tipped to happen sometime from next week onwards, but it will not be made available Over The Air (OTA) which is a bummer.

If you happen to own the Micromax A110 Canvas 2, you will need to call the nearest Micromax service center, make sure the service center has received the relevant firmware before you physically head for the service center to get your Micromax A110 Canvas 2 flashed with the latest Jelly Bean. Not exactly the most ideal of situations, which could be why Micromax is not such a hot name in the first place when it comes to Android-powered smartphones, eh?
