Prior to Yahoo’s acquisition of Tumblr, the service rolled out regular updates to its applications which included support for iOS and Android tablets,  adding new social features and even making its way to Windows Phone 8. After a few months of being acquired, Tumblr is now back to updating its dedicated applications, starting with its iOS and Android apps.

Both the iOS and Android versions of Tumblr will be receiving a “new discovery experience” as users will be able to search tags and blogs directly through the application’s Discovery section, which users were previously only able to search through tags. The Discovery section also allows users to see what’s currently trending across the network at any given time and will also suggest recommended blogs based on what you’re searching for.

If you’re a fan of Tumblr and have been hoping the service would make it easier to search for content you’re actually interested in, this seems to be the day you’ve been waiting for. Now get your apps updated so you can follow as many Community blogs as possible to feed your hunger for Troy and Abed GIFs.
