halo-2-anniversaryAccording to Halo franchise voice actor Steve Downes, it seems that 2014 will mark the release of Halo 2 Anniversary. Downes’ claim to fame would be the voice of the beloved Master Chief, where he mentioned that there will be an anniversary edition of the second Halo title, aptly known as Halo 2 Anniversary (which was rumored earlier this year), is going to roll out later in 2014. Downes mentioned, “I think you may be ahead of yourself on Halo 5. I wouldn’t expect anything until 2015. What you can look forward to this year is an anniversary edition of Halo 2.” It surely cannot get any more clearer as to whether Halo 2 Anniversary exists, can it?

Of course, this is not the first of such whispers concerning the Halo 2 Anniversary title arriving later this year, as there was a NeoGAF leak recently that laid claim to Halo 2 Anniversary arriving on the hot selling Xbox One later this November. Word on the grapevine also has it that both Saber Interactive and Certain Affinity, who helped out 343 Industries with the production of Halo: Combat Evolved – Anniversary Edition, will be joining forces in developing the second title. Do be pleasantly surprised of access to the Halo 5 beta is also thrown into the mix. Looks like fan of the franchise will have their patience sorely tested yet again during the waiting period…
