For quite some time now we have been hearing rumors that Samsung is gearing up to launch a new AMOLED tablet later this year. The company’s first and only AMOLED tablet was released back in 2011, it was called the Galaxy Tab 7.7. Display size of the new tablet is not known, but it is believed to range between 8-inches and 10-inches. Specifications of this tablet have been “confirmed” by a site with a credible past record, but one should check them out with an open mind and take the information with a grain of salt.

The folks at Sammobile “confirm” that Samsung’s new AMOLED tablet is going to come in Wi-Fi, 3G and LTE flavors. This was actually predicted in a previous leak. Its said to have a 2,560×1,600 pixel resolution display. Under the hood a processor from Samsung’s Exynos 5 series is expected. It may come with Android 4.4.2 pre-installed.

TouchWiz UI coupled with Magazine UX may be slapped over core Android. The site also claims that several Galaxy S5 features are being tested on the tablet, such as Ultra Power Saving Mode, which conserves battery life by turning the display black and white as well as disabling background apps and more. It may be positioned as Samsung’s flagship tablet at launch, no word as yet on when that might happen. No hints about pricing as well.
