If there is one feature that we love about smartwatches is the ability to display information such as notifications and alerts whenever we receive a message, a call, an email, and so on. It saves us time from having to take our phones from our pockets or bags, and it also lets us know we have notifications for those times when the phone is on silent.

Well the good news is that if you’re a Pebble owner and you use BBM as one of your main apps for messaging friends, family, or co-workers, you might be interested to learn that your Pebble will be able to get BBM alerts thanks to a BlackBerry 10 app called Talk2Watch Pro.

At the moment the app appears to be pretty barebones when it comes to offering BBM functionality. What this means is that if you were hoping for more detailed BBM notifications, such as message preview or who the message came from you’d be out of luck, but if you just wanted to be notified whenever you got a new BBM message, this should do the trick.

The app’s creator, Benjamin Silwa, has also been working on a Talk2Watch API reference which should allow other developers to connect with the Talk2Watch Pro app. As it stands the app is available for download via BlackBerry World where it will cost users $3.99 which is admittedly a little pricey for apps, but if you’d like to support a budding developer who is also a student, why not check it out?

It should be noted that this will require users to have Pebble 2.0 firmware on their Pebble watches in order for the app to work. In the meantime if you’d like to see the app in action and learn more about it, check out the video above which takes users through the Talk2Watch Pro app for BlackBerry 10.
