Nissan Offers Free And Easy Charging For LEAF Cars

nissan-leaf-free-chargingDriving an electric car has its fair share of advantages – electricity is a whole lot more affordable than a full tank of gas, not to mention electric cars have no emissions that will clog up the earth’s atmosphere with poisonous gases. The thing is, a gas station is whole lot more common than an electric vehicle charging point, and Nissan intends to encourage the uptake in their Nissan LEAF electric car by expanding on its successful “No Charge to Charge” promotion that will see the automobile manufacturer offer two years of free public charging with the purchase or lease of a new Nissan LEAF.

Do you think that this will be able to be a catalyst when it comes to encouraging the number of Nissan LEAF purchases in the immediate future? We do know that Nissan will launch “No Charge to Charge” in 25 U.S. markets, where these markets happen to make up over 80 percent of Nissan LEAF sales.

Expect the “No Charge to Charge” expansion to make use of the new EZ-ChargeSM card, which happens to be a first-of-its-kind platform that enables Nissan LEAF owners to access the leading EV charging networks with a single, all-access card. New owners of the Nissan LEAF will be on the receiving end of an EZ-Charge card, where they can then access chargers with ChargePoint, Blink Network from Car Charging Group, AeroVironment and NRG eVgo.
