Surprise surprise! Yet another next generation console title is being delayed. The studio behind Batman: Arkham Knight, Rocksteady, has officially confirmed that the title is going to be delayed. Initially it was slated for release later this year. Now the Batman Arkham Knight PS4, Xbox One release is expected to take place in 2015, same goes for the PC.

Studios often push back the release if they need more time to finish up work on the game. Mostly its to avoid running into problems after release which end up irking users and attracting bad publicity for the studio. Like Dax Ginn of Rocksteady said recently, “Awesome takes time.”

Batman: Arkham Knight was certainly one highly anticipated game slated for release later this year. Its also one of the few upcoming titles that’s truly next-gen. The game is set in open-world Gotham City. It won’t be available on PS3 or Xbox 360, only their successors and the PC.

Ginn says that there’s a very simple reason for pushing back the release, “to ensure that we are delivering the awesome level of quality that Batman fans and gamers expect from this.”

We’ll be able to pass judgement on that only after the title becomes available next year. Batman: Arkham Knight joins the list of delayed titles which include The Division, The Witcher 3 and The Order: 1886.
