blackberry strongIn terms of smartphone designs, the BlackBerry Passport is an odd one. We won’t know how well it handles until we actually try it for ourselves, but for now, the 1:1 aspect ratio is a little weird. BlackBerry claims that the screen size will allow more contents to be displayed, and based on previous comparisons, we’re inclined to agree.

That being said, if BlackBerry were to design a slider version of the BlackBerry Passport, is that something you might be interested in? Well a recent concept has surfaced for a device called the BlackBerry Strong, which is essentially the slider version of the BlackBerry Passport. We should point out that this is a fan-based concept, so if you were thinking that it was real, think again!

blackberry strong 2We have to admit that we’re a little intrigued by the concept. Without the keyboard sticking out, the BlackBerry Strong reminds us of a stack of Post-it notes, meaning that combined with a stylus, the BlackBerry Strong could do well as a note taking device. It would also fit a lot better into pants and bags, but other than that we can’t really see any real advantages to it being a slider.

What do you guys think? Do you like the concept of a BlackBerry Passport with a slide out QWERTY keyboard, or do you think that the BlackBerry Passport is perfect the way it is at the moment?
