Codemasters has finally confirmed the F1 2014 release date, many Formula 1 fans like me have been anxiously waiting for the new title. For PlayStation 3, Xbox 360 and the PC the F1 2014 release has been scheduled for October 17th, 2014. You might be thinking what about next-generation consoles such as the PlayStation 4 and Xbox One? Codemasters has also confirmed that F1 2014 for next-gen consoles won’t be hitting shelves until 2015 at the very least, bummer!

People who follow Formula 1 would be aware of all the monumental changes made in this season. The F1 2014 will recreate all of that as it brings new turbocharged cars, driver moves and new circuits. In a bid to make the game more appealing to casual gamers, some of which have shunned the title in the past due to its difficult controls, a driver evaluation system has also been added to the title.

The system will automatically tune the game’s settings to a particular player’s skill level. That doesn’t mean veterans will be hung out to dry, they will have the option to turn of all assists and experience the true challenge of racing the new cars. Codemasters also revealed that it has refined career mode options and expanded the scenario mode, it will reveal more information about the modes in the coming weeks.

As far as the next-gen release is concerned it is said that the title will launch earlier in the Formula 1 season, which traditionally kicks off in March every year. Live digital updates will then be pushed throughout the season as it unfolds to bring new content from the ongoing season straight into the game. No concrete release date has been announced though for next-gen version of F1 2014.
