Now that Apple’s iPhone event has been done and dusted we now look towards the company’s new tablet lineup for this year which is yet to be unveiled. Traditionally Apple’s iPad event takes place a month or so after the new iPhones have been announced so we were already expecting it to be conducted in October. A new report today suggests that October 21st has been penciled in as the date for the Apple 2014 iPad event.

The mid-October timeframe has actually been rumored by two separate sources. AppleInsider hears that the company is internally debating potential dates in mid-October for the event, and that it has not reached at a final decision as yet.

A report from The Daily Dot claims that Apple has decided when its going to schedule the 2014 iPad event, and that’s October 21st. It would more or less be an entire year since the launch event of iPad Air and Retina iPad mini which were shown off to the world on October 22nd, 2013.

Both iPad models are expected to be refreshed this year with the new A8 chip, better cameras and perhaps even the Touch ID fingerprint sensor. No major design changes are rumored for both models.

There have also been rumors of some announcements related to the MacBook lineup. It is believed that the company may unveil a new 12-inch MacBook with Retina display. Apple has made no confirmations as yet so take this with a grain of salt for now.
