moto-x-2014-review-14A couple of weeks ago, Motorola took the wraps off the new Moto X. The handset features some pretty decent specs and maintains some of the features and customization options that made the original Moto X an interesting and appealing smartphone. Now the good news is that if you liked what you saw in the new Moto X, you will be pleased to learn that AT&T has started to take pre-orders for it.

The handset is priced at $99 and will require you to sign a new two-year contract with the carrier. Alternatively if you’d rather not be tied down to AT&T, you will be able to pick up the handset off-contract and unlocked for $526, so we guess it really comes down to personal preference and the matter of freedom of choice.

Unfortunately purchasing the handset through AT&T will not give you access to the Moto Maker, which is a feature that launched with the last Moto X that allowed users to customize their handset to their liking. Instead AT&T will only offer users the choice of a black resin, bamboo, or a black leather finish.

If you think that those colors are good enough then why not head on over to AT&T’s website to place your order? The handset is expect to begin shipping from the 23rd of September.
