We know that there are probably days in which we look at the mirror and we think that we don’t look good – maybe we need a new haircut, maybe that outfit doesn’t match, maybe it’s time to start losing weight, and so on. Well it seems that over at IKEA in Wembley, London, they have decided to help their customers feel good about themselves.

The furniture company has recently installed a mirror at their Wembley store location in which it will be able to read a user’s body and features and offer them a personalized compliment, like how that beard looks great on them, and so on. This is achieved through the use of an Xbox Kinect motion sensor technology which can detect the user’s facial and body features.

According to one shopper who had an encounter with the mirror, “I was walking down the aisle, and this amazing mirror just whistled at me. Great for me, I never get compliments. I could have stood there all day to be honest.” While mirrors with technology embedded into them aren’t new and have been used to help take selfies, offer up fashion advice, or used for medical purposes, this is still a great idea and implementation nonetheless.

If you’re living in the area or live close by, maybe you could hop on over to IKEA to check out the mirror for yourself. In the meantime you can see the motivational mirror in action in the video above.
