Assassins-Creed-Unity-01

There’s a never-ending debate between PlayStation and Xbox owners about their respective platforms and as far as the latest consoles are concerned there has been evidence in PS4 video games to support that they have higher resolution as opposed to Xbox One. Ubisoft was met with a lot of criticism recently when Ubisoft Montreal producer Vincent Pontbriand was quoted in an interview as saying that Assassin’s Creed Unity had been locked at 900p resolution and 30fps on both platforms “to avoid all the debates and stuff.” Ubisoft has now come out with a clarification of its position.

Ubisoft reiterates that it would never do anything to “intentionally diminish anything we’ve produced or developed.” There’s a clarification from Pontbriand as well who has apologized for using “wrong words” when talking about Assassin’s Creed Unity’s resolution.

Pontbriand says that Ubisoft has spent four years “building the best game we could imagine. Why would we ever do anything to hold it back?” He’s proud of the development effort by the entire team behind this title which is the first next-gen only Assassin’s Creed game.

Gary Steinman, Ubisoft’s senior communications manager, also said that there’s no question of a game’s resolution being limited and that “Ubisoft does not constrain its games.”

The post also contains a hint about the possibility that the final technical specs for Assassin’s Creed Unity might change which is something that Ubisoft has already hinted previously.
