gold-blackberry-passport-official

Last year we saw pictures of a gold BlackBerry Passport surface online. At the time the company didn’t say if this color option will be offered to customers. There are many companies out there who will gold-plate BlackBerry devices for willing customers but now there’s an official option for Passport customers. Today the company has announced the BlackBerry Passport gold limited edition.

Emphasis on the word limited edition. As we previously reported only 50 units will be sold worldwide. These units will be engraved with “Limited Edition” and the production number so it truly be a unique product in the customer’s hands.

To sweeten the deal BlackBerry is also giving a soft calf leather cover with every purchase of this limited edition black and gold BlackBerry Passport. Given that only 50 units will be sold it goes without saying that the stock will dry up soon. Customers willing to purchase one can do so right now for $899 in the U.S. and $999 in Canada.

If you’re unable to pick one up BlackBerry also points towards Goldgenie which provides an aftermarket solution to bling up your Passport for a cool $2,020.

The only thing different in this limited edition model is the gold color on trims and metal frets. Everything else, like the Passport’s 4.5-inch 1,440×1,440 pixel resolution display, 3,450mAh battery and 13-megapixel camera with Optical Image Stabilization remains the same.
