samsung-galaxy-s5-review-001If you happen to own a Samsung Galaxy S5 and reside in the UK, then here is news for you – your smartphone is about to get bumped up to the latest version of the Android operating system, which would be Android 5.0 Lollipop. Ain’t this the sweetest news ever to your ears? This will hopefully see the next time Google publishes official figures concerning devices that have received the latest Android 5.0 Lollipop update to be more than a paltry 0.1%. It was in December last year that Samsung began to roll out the Android 5.0 Lollipop update to its Galaxy S5, albeit only in Poland and South Korea.

The update then made its way over to Europe – hitting Spain and Russia not too long back, and folks in the UK will now be able to get a taste of what Android 5.0 Lollipop is all about. It does look as though this will be based on the first Android 5.0 release, and that means Galaxy S5 owners there will not be on the receiving end of the newer builds which have rolled out ever since.

Not only that, we have also heard that Samsung is prepared to introduce Android 5.0 Lollipop to its older flagship models – like the Samsung Galaxy S4, Note 4 and Note 3, and should those devices receive the newer Android 5.0.2 Lollipop build, bummer for Galaxy S5 owners, as they have to wait for a further update to Android 5.0.2 Lollipop which is said to arrive “in a month or two”. Ah well, better late than never, right?
