schlage[CES 2015] I know that peace of mind can be something which is extremely difficult to obtain in this day and age, simply because there are so many uncertainties running around. As a man’s home is his castle, so too, would one need to make sure that said home remains secure – and Schlage intends to help out in this aspect by introducing the Schlage Sense system. Specially designed to have it play nice with Apple HomeKit technology, the Schlage Sense system will offer consumers with the kind of key-free convenience one can only dream of.

HomeKit technology offers advanced security with end-to-end encryption and authentication between the Schlage Sense lock and an iPhone, iPad, or iPod touch. Not only that, HomeKit will open up the door for consumers to control their Schlage Sense lock using one’s voice with Siri, and thankfully, the Sense lock does not compromise on its aesthetics, as the stylishly advanced lock would offer one to enter the home via the lock’s illuminated touchscreen or with their iPhone.

It is capable of managing and scheduling up to 30 codes simultaneously via a dedicated, easy-to-use app, and some of the management capabilities include the creation and deletion of access codes, being able to check on lock status and view activity, as well as update settings and check battery life – all without the need to hook up to an existing home automation system or fork out a monthly subscription charge.
