sony slim tv_1[CES 2015] We’re not sure how many of you guys remember that back in the day, televisions were huge. Not necessarily in screen size, but huge as in bulky. This is due to the technology that was used last time. However fast forward to today, TVs are much slimmer but in case the current offerings weren’t enough, Sony has some new TVs that might be of interest to you.

These new TVs are part of Sony’s XBR lineup and will include the XBR-55X900C, the XBR-65X900C, and the XBR75X900C. These TVs will be offered in a range of sizes depending on your needs and your budget, but according to Sony, the they will be of the ultra slim profile with its thinnest part measuring at 4.9mm, thus offering users a “floating style” display.

They will also feature a 4K resolution and will also use the new 4K Processor “X1” which supposedly helps improve the picture quality of any 4K source by upscaling the resolution as well as enhance its dynamic range and color. The new TVs will also come with Sony’s “One flick entertainment” UI and Android TV.

Sony has also included support for the recently announced Google Cast which basically allows users to stream audio from the cloud onto Google Cast ready devices. Pricing and availability have yet to be revealed, but hopefully we will learn more about it later.
